Autoflip
PRICE INDEX

Used car price index Belgium & the Netherlands

The average price of a used car per brand, measured on real listings. Median and average asking prices, based on 563.538 listings Autoflip scanned in the past 7 days.

What is this price index?

The Autoflip price index shows the typical (median) asking prices of used cars, not sale prices. It is calculated on all listings we scanned in the past 7 days across 5 platforms: 2dehands.be, Marktplaats.nl, AutoScout24 BE, AutoScout24 NL and Mobile.de. The median is the middle price and is less sensitive to outliers than the average. All figures are indicative.

Methodology

  • Sources: 2dehands.be, Marktplaats.nl, AutoScout24 BE, AutoScout24 NL and Mobile.de. Autoflip scans these platforms continuously for new car listings.
  • Asking prices, not sale prices. We measure what sellers ask, private sellers and dealers combined. The final sale price is usually lower.
  • Minimum 25 listings per brand. Brands with fewer than 25 listings in the past 7 days are left out to avoid unreliable figures.
  • Price bounds: listings below 250 euro or above 200.000 euro are excluded as outliers or data errors.
  • Monthly median = the n-weighted mean of daily medians. That is an approximation of the true monthly median, chosen so the history can be computed efficiently.
